Max CPM Bid

Set a ceiling on what you pay per 1,000 billboard impressions — with a built-in floor tied to the average CPM in your selected area.

What is a Max CPM Bid?

CPM stands for Cost Per Mille — the price you pay for every 1,000 impressions your ad receives on Blip billboards. Your Max CPM bid is the upper limit on that price: a ceiling that tells Blip, "Never pay more than this amount per 1,000 impressions."

This is not a target or a guaranteed spend rate — it's a cap. Your actual average CPM will typically come in well below your maximum, as Blip optimizes your bids across available billboard inventory in your selected area.

HOWMAXCPM

Key Concept

Your Max CPM is a ceiling, not an average. Blip will never exceed it, but your actual spend per 1,000 impressions is typically much lower as the platform optimizes across billboard inventory in your area.

Default Value

When setting up a campaign, your Max CPM starts at a default value you can adjust at any time.

You can raise or lower this value to match your goals and budget — but there is a minimum floor you cannot go below, based on your campaign area.

The Minimum Floor

You cannot set a Max CPM lower than the average CPM for the area you selected during campaign setup. This floor is dynamic — it reflects real market rates for billboard inventory in your chosen location and will vary by area.

Important

If you enter a Max CPM below the floor for your selected area, Blip will prompt you to increase your bid before the campaign can go live. Areas with higher billboard demand will have a higher minimum floor.

This floor ensures your campaign can realistically compete for impressions in your target market. If you change your campaign area, the floor may update to reflect that location's average CPM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I always be charged my Max CPM?
No. The Max CPM is a ceiling — the most you'll ever be charged per 1,000 impressions. Your blended average CPM across a campaign is typically well below that limit.

Why can't I set my Max CPM below the area average?
The floor is based on the competitive market rate for billboards in your selected area. A bid below this level wouldn't be able to win impressions, so Blip prevents campaigns from going live with an uncompetitive Max CPM.

Will the floor change if I change my campaign area?
Yes. The minimum floor is tied to the average CPM in your selected area. Different locations have different market rates, so switching areas may raise or lower the floor.

Can I change my Max CPM after a campaign is live?
Yes. You can update your Max CPM at any time in Campaign Settings. Changes apply going forward and won't affect impressions already served.
