Q: What is a blip?

A: A blip is one display of your artwork on a digital billboard.

Q: How long does a board display the ad?

A: A blip is anywhere from 7.5 to 10 seconds on a rotating billboard. It depends on which board you choose. 

Q: How much does it cost?

A: You choose your daily spend! You choose the campaign length. No fees and no minimum spend. 

The Blip Cost Estimator will estimate the number of daily 8-second blips your money can purchase. 

Q. How do I get started creating a campaign?

A: You create your own campaign. Go to, create an account, and begin setting up a campaign. See our how to create a campaign video here.

Q: What is “Limited Status”?

A: Some boards have such a high demand the availability becomes ‘limited’. This means no Blip advertisers are on the board. It is temporary and your ad artwork will not display until status becomes ‘normal’. 

Q: How big are the billboards?

A: Billboards are different sizes. Most boards are about 14 ft high by 40 ft long.

Q: Which file type can I upload on the Billboards?

A: Still images of .jpg, .jpeg, or .png image.

Q:Does Blip have Ad design templates?

A: Coming One day. For now, our graphic design team is here to assist you. 

Q: How does billing work?

A: You only pay for the actual display or your artwork (Blip). Once a credit card is attached, your campaign is billed every $40-$50 spent or 7-10 business days, whichever comes first. 

Q: How long is the contract?

A: There is no contracted campaign length. Run your advertisement as long as it works for you.

Q: How do I know my billboard is working?

Q: Why was I charged after my campaign ended?

A: Once the campaign ends, the account balance will be reconciled for any blips displayed prior to your end date. How to see my Invoice.

Q: Why was my ad artwork rejected?

A: See the design guidelines. Great artwork has a big impact and some artwork will be rejected if it is outside the design guideline. While your artwork may be rejected for any reason, please feel free to reach out to us directly for more assistance.

Q: Campaign box yellow... Is my campaign not running?

A: Look at the notes in the yellow campaign box. There are many possibilities for the campaign to not be running. 

Q: Why are some billboards displaying way more Blips that others?

A: Blip’s algorithm is designed to maximize your daily budget in the marketplace and some boards are cheaper than others. 

Blip gives you the most exposure for the lowest price per blip. Check your campaign regularly and split boards into separate campaigns. 

Q: How does Blip prove the ad displayed?

A: Create a “proof of performance” report which will show you the exact time of day your ad was displayed and how much you paid.

Q. What is the right pixel size for my ad artwork?

A. Not all billboards are the same size in height and length. When you select the billboards the description will indicate the pixel size required. 

Q. What PPI (pixels per inch) should I upload my ad artwork with?

A. 72 PPI and anything above that works great! Usually our team designs at 300 PPI. 

Q: If I submit a design request will they upload the finished artwork to my account?

A: You manager your campaign. Yes, our design team can upload your completed design directly to your account as well as email the files to you.  

Q: What happens after I have uploaded my artwork and enabled my campaign?

A: We are excited about your campaign. Your artwork is being moderated. Within 48 hours artwork will be approved or rejected. If approved, it is ready to go live. If rejected, it may need to be re-designed.

Q: What is the minimum amount of time I can advertise on a billboard?

A: Two hour window is the shortest time in the daily schedule. 

Q: Does Blip offer discounts for Nonprofits?

A: Blip has zero fees or markups. Because 100% of your money goes to the display of your ads, there are no fees to waive if you are a Non-profit organization. Call us, we love to hear about your efforts to make the world better.  

Q:  How do I ensure ad displays on a specific Billboard? 

A: Check the status of the board. (Go to your campaign, click the edit button -pencil icon- and click the red/green dot in the map.  If it is limited, you will see the status “limited” in red. This means the demand is so high your ad will not display right now.) Check the Analytics to see if it has run. Still, have questions? We are here to help.


Q. Can I only advertise on one billboard?

A: Advertise on as many billboards or as few boards as make sense for you! Your daily budget will cover all of the boards you select in your campaign. For example, if you have 3 boards in a campaign and a $30 daily budget in your campaign, you will be charged $30 for the day. 

Q: Can I be notified when you have signs in a specific area or zip code?

A: Yes! Fill out the form at the bottom of the Locations page on our website & we will make sure to notify you as soon as we have billboards go live in your area!  

Q: What are Pixel Dimensions?

A: Pixel dimensions are the horizontal and vertical measurements of an image expressed in pixels.

Q: How does the Daily Budget work?

A: Your daily budget will be distributed between your selected boards in a campaign.

Q: Is there a referral program?

A: We have a Referral Program! Refer your friends and earn $25 of credit!

Q: What are Web Triggers? 

A: It is a way for a website to control your max per blip based on online variables.
